Hello! I’m Ariel Contreras-Esquivel, a composer, orchestrator, and producer from Argentina. Music has always been my passion, and I have been fortunate to turn that passion into a dynamic career that spans various media, including video games, films, advertisements, and concert music.
Throughout my journey, I have had the privilege of working on exciting projects that challenge and inspire me. I was honored to receive the "Best Original Soundtrack" award at Filmapalooza 2023, as well as the Silver Medal in the "Composer" category at the Global Music Awards 2021. These accolades reflect my dedication and expertise in the field.
One of my standout projects was composing the score for the viral short film "Grasancrem 2," directed by Teodoro Ciampagna in 2015. I have also collaborated on video games like "Blue Rider" and "Blink and Die," with the latter winning the "Best Game Audio" award at Indie Prize Berlin. My music has been showcased at international festivals, including the short film "Concentrico," which was featured at the "Short Film Corner" of the Cannes Film Festival in 2018.
In addition to my work in film and games, I have partnered with animation companies such as HookUp Animation and contributed to the musical production of Disney Latino’s "Cumpleaños Mágico." I’ve had the pleasure of conducting the Ostrich Orchestra for various recording sessions, including the acclaimed documentary "Ordinary Gods," directed by Pascui Rivas. Most recently, I worked with Ubisoft Toronto on "Far Cry 6," and I’ve received several recognitions for my contributions to indie games like "Blue Fire," "Tinytopia," and "Teratopia."
Beyond my composition work, I serve as a lead instructor at the Universidad Nacional de Rafaela in Argentina, where I share my insights and experiences with the next generation of musicians. I also enjoy speaking at workshops, festivals, and educational institutions worldwide, sharing my passion for music and sound creation.
